I think, after watching the film a few more times, the place that naturally seems to suggest a break for a title sequence (and a kit kat) seems to suggest itself at about 11:32 as the camera moves in on the interesting wall carving. This point already has a link which is the patterns (seen below). Once the new title sequence has been implemented the modern symbols will act as a good grounder to return the audience to the film.

So...today was the screening/ big unavailing of the film we are creating a new title sequence for...THE FIFTH ELEMENT Directed by Luc Besson.

First impressions of the film...MIND BLOWN. The movie had absolutely everything. Not only was it a visually beautiful piece, it also had a well balanced plot with the perfect mixture of comedy, action and attractive women.

The brief only allows 3 weeks from first screening of the film to the presentation of the work. This doesn't give a lot of time to contemplate the project. I'm going to spend the first week exploring the film and fleshing out some ideas. Then will spend the other two weeks executing my ideas and rendering the product.
